It's a bleak day for fans of hit sporting simulator Football Manager as the 2025 iteration of the long-running series has been abruptly cancelled on all platforms, including its upcoming mobile release. You may recall that Sports Interactive had pushed back the release already. However, in a rather abrupt announcement, the developer has confirmed that Football Manager 2025 is cancelled with immediate effect. In their statement, Sports Interactive cited their difficulties in achieving the desired level of technical quality but confirmed that they were focusing their efforts on the next release in the franchise. The cancellation will be upsetting to fans for a number of reasons but chief amongst them being the previous announcement that Football Manager 25 would be releasing on Netflix Games for mobile. A move sure to have secured many new fans for the franchise but which is now up in the air for the foreseeable future.
